We're thrilled that BAM is back at Monroe Elementary this fall, bringing an extra dose of After School Theatre Enrichment excitement! 🌟
This term, students will be immersed in the magic of The Little Mermaid as they dive into a medley of favorite songs.
Mark your calendars - this class will be held on Tuesdays, 3:15pm -4:15pm starting September 19th.

New York Times Best selling author, Patricia C. Wrede, is coming to Monroe to speak to our 3rd-5th graders on September 20th. Her new fantasy is titled, "The Dark Lord's Daughter." Is Kayla destined for darkness or can she be a new kind of Dark Lady?
These author visits are free to our school for hosting a book fair. However, there is a minimum purchase of 30 books. If sales are not met, the library must pay for the additional cost. Please consider supporting your child's love of reading and Monroe's library by purchasing a personal copy of the book.

Chick-fil-A Community Partners Night - Tues. 9/19

Don’t worry about making dinner on Tuesday, September 19 and stop by Chick-fil-A from 5-8 pm for Monroe’s first Community Partners event of the school year.

2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders are invited to come for fun and to… complete upcycling craft projects. Play games that teach about the environment. Explore the Living Classroom. Learn how to take better care of Monroe and our Earth.

We are looking for a parent or older sibling volunteer to participate in the Rotary Run Mascot Race dressed as Miles the Mustang!! The mascot race will include all of the D181 school mascots and is a great way to show Monroe pride!

Calling all Monroe Families! The Rotary Run is Sunday, 10/1! There are events for every type of runner, walker, and even your family pooch can join! All proceeds go to charity, including some of our local school and community organizations, including the D181 Foundation.

Host a Party = Raise Money for Monroe!

We Need You, Party People! The 2023-24 school year is a PTO fundraising year, which culminates in the Kentucky Derby party on May 4, 2024!
Leading up to that big event, we need your help to host parties to raise more money. Be creative and throw whatever kind of party you want! Pair up with other families or host on your own. Parties can be for adults only, kids only, or families. Parties can be focused on certain grade levels or genders (for example, you could host a party for only 3rd grade boys).

We are thrilled to announce that Monroe is launching Kids Care Club for up to 30 students in grades 3rd - 5th.
The KCC's goal is to teach compassion through philanthropy and to instill a passion for helping others. We will focus on service projects and fundraising for needs within our community and beyond. Students will learn about issues driving the need for such charitable work and will be actively involved in service projects and fundraising efforts for selected initiatives.
Meetings will be held periodically (no more than once per month) at Monroe from 8:00 am to 8:30 am.
Be on the look out for a Sign-Up Genius in an upcoming Mustang Minutes - space will be limited!
