Monroe Milers is Back! - Starts Monday, 9/9

All of the students at Monroe school are invited to participate in our before school Monroe Milers run club!

Monroe Milers starts Monday, September 9! Sign Up HERE!

This is an opportunity for our students to tune up their cardiovascular endurance. Students will be able to walk or run the designated mile course before school earning "Mile Tokens" for each mile completed during Milers.

The club meets from 7:55-8:25 AM (rain or shine). We will meet on the black top on warm, sunny days. In the event of rain or cold weather the students will meet in the gym for Milers.

Volunteer at the Monroe Bike Rodeo - 9/12!

Monroe's Bike Rodeo is Thursday, 9/12 right after school at 3:05pm.

This Bike Safety Event is open to students in 3rd grade, and any new students to the school that are between 3rd and 5th grade. Students must have their own bicycle helmet and bicycle to participate in the event.

Sign up HERE to help! Volunteers need to arrive at 2:45pm and the event begins right after school at 3:05pm.

Join the Monroe Chess Club - classes start 9/17

The Monroe Chess Club is pleased to announce the return of after school chess! No chess experience is needed. Beginners and all levels are welcome! The class is run by Illinois Chess Teachers and will be on Tuesdays from 3:05pm to 4:15pm on the below dates: 

• 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/29, 11/12, 11/19, 12/10, 12/17
• *No Chess Tues. 10/22 and 12/3 Tournament Day

Canned Food Drive at Movie Night!

The Kids Care Club will host a canned food drive to benefit Hinsdale's very own HCS Family Services at Monroe's Movie Night on Sept 20th! 

Each child that brings a canned or other packaged food item will receive a special ticket that he/she can exchange for a delicious candy treat!

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 20th, Mustangs! 

Monroe's inaugural movie night is sure to be a fun way to ring in the school year. This FREE event will include the book fair, tacos and pizza to purchase for dinner, music, candy concessions - all to be followed by a movie on the big screen in the bowl!

So, pack up your blankets and beach chairs, we can't wait to see you then! The kids will vote on the movie we watch in school the week of September 9th!

Join Kids Care Club (3rd-5th Graders)!

Sign up for this year's Kids Care Club! 

The KCC - open to 3rd through 5th graders -- is dedicated to community service and local philanthropic projects. Club members will learn the importance of giving back to their community and experience the joy of volunteering. The club will engage in various local charitable projects throughout the year and raise money for important causes. 

The club will meet monthly on Tuesdays before school and prepare for an upcoming service project. The KCC can only accommodate 30 kids, first come first served.

Save the date for movie night on Friday, September 20th! This first time event will be lots of fun for the whole family. There will be food trucks, the book fair, and a movie outside on the big screen. Students will vote for their favorite movie in the coming weeks!!!
