Thank you for Stocking the Lounge! If you would still like to donate drinks, snacks, fruit, veggies for our staff to enjoy during the school day there is still time. The sign up genius link is here. Simply select a January item, drop them off at the school office or send in with your child this month.

Even though we designated a grade per month you may donate any month(s) you'd like. This is a great way to shower our teachers and staff during these cold winter days.

Science Fair

Thank you to everyone who has signed up for Science Fair. We are very excited by the number of students who want to participate. The presentation boards (tri-fold presentation boards) will be given to the students soon. Details on what to put on the boards will be provided at that time. Students are welcome to partner if desired. As a reminder, the boards will be due back at Monroe by 2/18. The Science Fair will be 2/25, 6-7 PM.

Calling all 5th graders and families! Save the date for CHMS Pizza Wars 2025!

This well loved, delicious middle school event will be held Wednesday, March 12th at CHMS. It’s a great way to get a glimpse and experience what CHMS is all about!

You’ll get to sample slices of pizza and vote for your favorites! And enjoy the Eagle Jam Talent Show put on by CHMS students!

Attention Fifth Graders and Parents! Get ready to glow up at our annual "Mon-Glow" fifth grade dance! Join us on Friday, March 21st from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Butterfield Country Club (2800 Midwest Road, Oakbrook) for sounds from DJ Maximus, dinner, dancing and photo booth. No siblings, please. Science Fair is back! Verbal details about the event were given to the kids on Friday. Deadline to signup HERE is 1/16. (Apologies for the short notice) This year’s themes will be: Grades KG-2: Circle of Life – Discover how plants and animals grow, survive, and adapt to their environments. Grades 3-5: Nature in Action – Forces that shape our world, explore gravity, friction, and motion. Please note the kids are not under any obligation to participate along theme lines. Registration is now open for the next event of the Community Speaker Series season! We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Michele Borba to share her parenting expertise with our community. Her dynamic approach and deep understanding of empathy will be of interest to parents of all ages of children.

There will be an evening presentation and a morning presentation to accommodate our audience. Both events will be held in person at The Community House. The events are free and open to all.

 

 

This year, local businesses are being invited to support the CSS as community partners by providing hospitality at the CSS events. Come out to connect, learn and enjoy!

D181 and Barnes and Noble Present: Gordan Korman

 

Gordan is a beloved middle grade author and will be coming to HMS on Friday, January 17th, from 4-6 pm. He will talk with the students and families about his new book, "Old School." Books will be signed live at the event.
